We recently went in search of four club golfers to test and comment on the Galvin Green Lincoln Jacket, a half zip outerwear garment, constructed using Galvin Green's new Interface-1 fabric.
We found our men via social media, 3 living in the UK and 1 in Germany. They had handicaps ranging from 5 to 18, wore sizes from Medium to XXL, and took to the course in a complete range of weather conditions. Here's what they had to say about this premium Galvin Green Lincoln product.
Before handling the Lincoln Jacket, what do you expect from a Galvin Green product at this price point?
For it to be technical, with high levels of comfort and quality, durable and long lasting. We would expect the garment to be functional, but without a compromise on movement, fit or style.
How did you test this product?
Early morning rounds of golf, in varied weather conditions including plenty of rain. Some spectating at the BMW International Open in Munich, a country walk and some high street shopping trips.
The Galvin Green Lincoln Jacket is constructed using Japanese fabric that is ultra-lightweight and stretchy. Did you feel the benefit of this?
Yes this feels like the lightest jacket. We could all swing freely and easily. Even for the bigger guy, the stretchy fabric means no restriction at all to the swing.
Did you find the jacket to have wind blocking and water resistant properties?
Yes, very much so, no problems in the rain, the Lincoln jacket kept us completely dry. It was also very impressive in the wind, blocking the cold but not getting too uncomfortable on a warmer day.
Galvin Green claim this jacket can be worn 95 out of 100 rounds. Would you trust it for this purpose?
Heavy rain and high temperatures would probably cause issues but it is such a versatile jacket and should always be in the golf bag.
Would you feel comfortable wearing this jacket away from the golf course?
3 out of 4 of us would, but in the more subtle colours!
Finally, is there anything you would change about the Lincoln jacket?
Adding a small/back pocket for phones/keys would be very handy but apart from that we are very happy with how it looks and performs. Great product, worthy of the price tag.
