Golf Mid-Layers

Combining performance and protection, golf mid-layers are designed to shield you from a chill without impacting your game. Our unparalleled range of mid layers contains everything from lightweight hoodies to warm chunky knit golf sweaters. All of which will layer up under a waterproof or windproof jacket, or pack down neatly to fit in your golf bag when not required. We stock all the leading brands, including Galvin Green, BOSS, Castore, Callaway and Calvin Klein, with styles and cuts to suit every golfer's style.

A soft zip vest with 4-way stretch is the ideal mid layer for those slightly warmer spring days, however, when the windchill is more intense or the weather is unpredictable, a hybrid jacket with breathability, water-resistant properties and padded insulating panels in the body will normally keep you warm for 18 holes. Whether you favour classic block colours or prefer playing with prints and patterns, we have a range of mid layers that are certain to take pride of place in your golf wardrobe.

Golf Mid Layer FAQ'S

What is a golf mid layer?

A mid-layer of golf clothing is worn between your base layer and outer layer and is designed to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. A mid layer is normally light, comfortable and easy to play golf in, not restricting your movement when you swing.

Can you wear a fleece to play golf?

When the weather starts to turn colder, keeping warm whilst on the course should be your number 1 consideration. A fleece golf jacket with a collar is a good option for colder temperatures. A windbreaker jacket over a fleece is the perfect combination, trapping warmth whilst acting as a barrier for wind chill.

How do I layer up for golf in cold weather?

In colder months, begin with a fitted base layer that will trap warmth next to your skin. Combine this with a comfortable polyester mid-layer which will be warm and breathable. Then chose an outer layer that will protect you from the wind or rain, possibly one with insulation.

What type of golf mid layer is best for protection?

A mid layer should offer warmth, moisture-wicking properties and stretch. The fit should be close enough to the body to retain warmth, but also allow space for base layers. Merino wool and fleece are good fabrics to consider. Cotton should be avoided as it retains moisture which may leave you feeling cold.
